About the Contest
The Illinois Bear & Critter Contest is more than a stage event. It is a celebration of leadership, visibility, and community across the full spectrum of the bear and critter world.
Contestants are not expected to fit a single mold. They bring their own identities, experiences, and perspectives forward, representing the diversity that already exists within our community. What matters most is a commitment to showing up, engaging, and giving back.
Throughout the weekend, participants will take part in a mix of community-facing events, interviews, and stage presentations. Each element is designed to highlight not just presence, but purpose.
